Skovfolket from Pobra — gnomes with soul and tradition
Skovfolket from Pobra has become a beloved part of Danish Christmas decor for decades. The series, designed by Susanna Hartmann, is known for its detailed polyresin figures that bring warmth and life to the holiday. Each figure tells a small story about the world of the gnomes — a place where nature, tradition and coziness meet in a special balance. Skovfolket combines the classic gnome universe with a contemporary aesthetic, making them a staple in many Danish homes during the Christmas season.
The story behind Skovfolket and Susanna Hartmann's designs
The series was created from the desire to give the gnomes personality and depth. Susanna Hartmann’s figures express joy, thoughtfulness and liveliness, and it is precisely this that makes Skovfolket special in Danish Christmas decoration. The small faces, warm color tones and carefully crafted costumes reflect a deep respect for craftsmanship and for the old tales about gnomes who help, tease and look after the home during the Christmas season.
A universe of Christmas figures and gnome delight
Skovfolket includes a wide range of Christmas figures in many sizes and expressions. Here you’ll find both the lively gnome orchestra that plays up the Christmas spirit and the quieter gnomes preparing for Christmas night. The figures work beautifully as table decorations and as part of a gnome village scene, where they create cohesion and atmosphere. Many choose to collect Skovfolket year after year, enjoying expanding their little gnome world with new members, each telling its own story.
Polyresin figures made for many years of Christmas joy
The polyresin material gives the figures their characteristic weight and durability as well as the fine surface that stands up well to the test of time. This means Skovfolket can bring joy year after year without losing its character. The gnomes fit beautifully in the living room, on the dining table or on the windowsill, where they create calm, warmth and the authentic Christmas atmosphere we associate with December.
At Juleeventyr.com you’ll find a wide selection of figures from the Skovfolket series, from small gnomes to gnome village scenes and larger individual figures that can stand out in the home.
