Apothecary Glass Vase and Candle Holder with Harlequin Pattern

One small glass bottle can change function depending on what you need on the table. This apothecary glass from Ib Laursen is made of clear glass with a decorative harlequin pattern that gives the surface texture and lets the light play beautifully in the glass. The shape is inspired by classic apothecary bottles and works both as a small vase and as a candle holder.

The apothecary glass is 11 cm high and measures 6 cm in diameter at the base. Use it as a vase for a single flower, a couple of small stems or a pretty branch. It doesn’t require a large bouquet and is therefore ideal for small flowers from the garden, a eucalyptus sprig or single seasonal stems.

The glass can also be used as a candle holder for taper candles with a diameter of 2.2 cm. Place the candle directly in the opening, or combine the apothecary glass with one of Ib Laursen's separate candle holders designed to be inserted into bottles. That way, the same glass can quickly change from a vase to a more prominent candle holder.

Use several apothecary glasses in a row on the dining table and mix flowers and taper candles, or let a single one stand on the windowsill or on a shelf. At Christmas the harlequin pattern looks beautiful with spruce and candlelight, while fresh flowers give the glass a completely different expression in spring and summer.
