Taper candle holder, red pig with bow

A small red Christmas pig with a bow can quickly become one of the details guests notice on the Christmas table. This sweet pig from Ib Laursen also functions as a candle holder with room for a standard taper candle 2.2 cm in diameter. The candle is placed on its back, so the 11.5 cm long pig serves both as a Christmas ornament and as a decorative part of the table lighting.

The glossy Christmas-red color makes the pig perfect among fir, Christmas porcelain, and classic red holiday textiles. Insert a white or cream-colored taper candle for a nice contrast, or play with colors and choose a candle that matches the rest of the table. The holder doesn’t take up much space and can easily be placed between plates, glasses, and serving dishes.

The Christmas pig can also take on a special role on Christmas Eve. Use it as the almond prize (mandelgave) instead of the traditional marzipan pig. The winner still gets a pig, but this one can appear on the Christmas table again next year and will, after all, last longer than marzipan.
