Pumpkin Cottage

If one were to settle in Spooky Town, Pumpkin Cottage could be one of the more peaceful places to settle. The little house is shaped like a huge orange pumpkin with crooked windows, green shutters and a round wooden door that almost makes it look like a fairytale house. Warm light streams from the windows, and small pumpkins at the entrance welcome visitors.

It never becomes entirely ordinary in Spooky Town, though. Two black cats hang around the front door, and especially one of them looks like it's about to step out to investigate who is approaching the house. The twisted chimney, the rustic windows and the pumpkin's uneven surface give the cottage lots of small details, while the light from inside makes Pumpkin Cottage extra atmospheric when darkness falls over Halloween town.

Maybe a witch lives behind the round door. Maybe the house simply belongs to one of the town's more peaceful residents, who prefer black cats to guard dogs. Pumpkin Cottage doesn't reveal that. But with warm light in the windows and the cats around the door, it almost feels safe to knock. Almost.
