Santa Claus from the Ribe Elves

When December approaches, Santa leaves Greenland and moves for a while to Ribe. Here he lives with Santa's wife in a small half-timbered house behind the mill. The location is carefully chosen, because from here he can keep an eye on the town's chimneys while the last names are written into the big book and Christmas Eve draws nearer.

Santa from Ib Laursens Ribenisserne® is 13.7 cm tall and made of polyresin. He is smartly dressed in his red jacket, gray trousers and cap, with the large gift sack over his shoulder. His full gray beard, small glasses and winter boots give him a cozy, classic Santa look that fits well with the series' many Ribenisser.

While Santa makes the final preparations, the reindeer rest down by the moat. Outside the half-timbered house the mailbox is overflowing with wish lists, and there are still names to check before the journey continues on Christmas Eve. His age is unknown, but chances are he has celebrated quite a few Christmas Eves.

For Santa there is something very special about December in Denmark's oldest town. As he himself says: Christmas always feels a little closer when they are in Ribe.
