Ribe Gnomes Alfred with Children

At Alfred's, December isn't quiet, and it shouldn't be. The family of five lives in an old warehouse close to the stream in Ribe, where the days are full of children, Christmas preparations and lots of laughter. Alfred is 419 Christmas Eves old, while the family's three children are 110, 110 and 116 Christmas Eves old. In the morning they hop around like little fleas, and in the evening they take turns falling asleep, tired, in the adults' arms.

The Ribenissen Alfred from Ib Laursen is 13.1 cm tall and made of polyresin. He has his arms full of children, with one in his lap, one on his back and one close to his leg. The red elf hats, striped sweaters and Alfred's big beard give the little family plenty of details to discover.

At home in the warehouse, paper hearts are woven and snowmen are built in the yard, even when the snow barely covers the cobblestones. There's noise and laughter, and now and then a bit of the rice porridge ends up on the walls. For Alfred and the family, it's not a mess. It's simply December, exactly as it should be.
