Ribenisserne Dagny with Ice Skates

Before Ribe has fully woken, Dagny is already on her way through the narrow streets with her skates slung over her shoulder. Her destination is the moat, where on the coldest winter days the water collects and lies mirror-smooth under the frost. Here Dagny loves being the first on the ice and taking the day’s first glide while the rest of the town still sleeps.

The Ribe elf Dagny from Ib Laursen is 13.5 cm tall and made of polyresin. She stands with her skates over her shoulder, warmly dressed for the winter weather in a dress, striped stockings, a scarf and the red elf hat. The small snow-covered base under her feet completes the winter scene and makes Dagny lovely to display among firs, small Christmas trees and other elf decorations.

Dagny is 347 Christmas Eves old, but the joy of the first trip onto the ice has not diminished with the years. It is the silence, the glossy ice and the feeling of having the whole moat to herself that she loves most. Only later can the rest of Ribe be allowed to wake up.
