Ingeborg, the Ribe elf with knitting

High up in the attic above the old merchant's yard in Ribe, Ingeborg sits with her knitting in her hands. Here she can hear the sounds from the courtyard below as the stitches slowly become new warm pieces. She dyes the yarn herself with lichen and rowan, just as she always has, and after 403 Christmases it has by now added up to quite many stitches.

Ribenissen Ingeborg from Ib Laursen is 8.8 cm tall and crafted with many small details. She sits comfortably with her knitting while balls of yarn in different colors lie around her. The glasses, the red elf hat and the warm clothes emphasize the story of the industrious attic elf and make her a cozy discovery among the other Christmas elf decorations.

When the winter wind rattles the old roof tiles, Ingeborg counts stitches in time with the breeze. And according to the story, one must be completely quiet on Christmas Eve. Then you might hear her knitting needles clatter up in the attic.
