Ribe Elves Santa's Wife

When winter comes, Mrs Claus travels all the way from Greenland to Ribe. Here she and Santa move into a small half-timbered house behind the mill, and although December is usually the busiest month of the year, something happens to the pace when they arrive in the old town. As she herself says, there is something about Ribe that makes even the busiest Christmas feel completely calm.

Mrs Claus from Ib Laursens Ribenisserne® is 13.9 cm tall and made of polyresin. She stands in her red dress with an apron, a cozy gray blouse and small glasses, while her gray hair is gathered on top. The classic expression fits nicely among the series' other gnomes and the many little stories from Ribe.

In the half-timbered house she lights the wood-burning stove and bakes peppernuts for both gnomes and people. When the day's baking is finished, she brings out the Christmas cards. With rosy cheeks and a thick shawl around her shoulders, she writes her Christmas greetings as the December evening falls over the town.

Her age? It is unknown. Perhaps there are some things even Ribenisserne don't ask about.
