A Christmas-happy family
Our own personal Christmas adventure began when we started Juleeventyr.com back in 2010.
Almost many years ago, Heidi visited a Christmas market in Germany. Here she experienced a world of Christmas decorations that was different from what you would find in Danish department stores in Denmark. Heidi became acquainted with the Dutch brand Luville, and she acquired her first miniature house from there.
– this would later become the beginning of a true Christmas town passion.
As a family, we had a long-standing tradition of going to the large annual Christmas market in Vellingeblommar, Sweden, where we once again encountered the fascinating universe of Luville. This also meant that our family's private Luville Christmas village grew steadily year after year with one or two houses.
The challenge came, however, when we returned home from the Christmas market, it was impossible to find Luville when we wanted to supplement our expanding city with, for example, figures and trees. Therefore, we personally contacted Luville, which is owned by Edelman in the Netherlands, with the aim of making our Christmas interest more widespread and accessible in Denmark.
From Christmas decorations to webshop
We started Juleeventyr.com as a small shop that only sold Luville. We went to the Christmas markets in Gavnø and Gisselfeld with all our products in the hope that Danes would be drawn to the fantastic products, as we had been.
The Christmas market at Gavnø Castle is still a recurring event for us. We have had a stand at the market for all the years. Two weekends in November, you can still meet Juleeventyr at Gavnø Castle. We quickly learned at the Christmas markets that there was a great demand for snow globes, which therefore became a natural next step for us. The inspiration for our range has, and has always come from our own Christmas decoration favorites and wishes. For example, it was difficult for us to find Christmas bells for our family Christmas tree. We both remembered the bells from when we were children ourselves, so of course we wanted them to adorn our family tree too.
Unique range
In addition, our range grew with, for example, Lemax and Baby Santa Claus, when we also learned that these were also difficult to find in Denmark. Until September 2019, we had the entire Juleeventyr.com range at home in our private basement, where we then went and picked and packed. There were Christmas decorations everywhere, and a container in the garden was also needed. We have now already outgrown our warehouse after a few years. With the approximately 3500 item numbers we have in stock, we need plenty of space.
Back to where the whole adventure began, with Luville, we can now proudly call ourselves Scandinavia's largest retailer of Luville.
Family favorites
We are a family that has always been very busy during Christmas, even though the webshop for the past 10 years has kept us busy during Christmas, we all enjoy it. Our 5 children each have their own boxes of Christmas decorations and their own Christmas village, so there are Christmas landscapes on every shelf, frame and surface throughout the house.
We love decorating, building Christmas landscapes, the traditions surrounding Christmas, decorating the tree with all the family's favorite glass baubles, which almost all have their permanent places on the tree. And we have a huge tree.
Heidi's favorite Christmas decoration is 3 musical elves from Daells Varehus in Nørregade, which have been passed down from grandmother, to mother and now to Heidi. Baby elves are also one of Heidi's personal favorites, as they always make you happy with their happy faces. She still has many from when she was a child. Nicolaj's favorite Christmas decoration is the old winery from Luville, which unfortunately is no longer produced, but the small stalls, such as the gingerbread stall and the beekeeper's hut, are also among the favorites. We as a family are especially happy with the fine mouth-blown and handmade blue Christmas bells that we hang on the Christmas tree every year.
