Gray stone paving underlay

Small cobblestone streets can help transform a collection of Christmas houses into a true little Christmas town. This A4 mat features a dense pattern of small, irregular grey stones that evoke the feel of old-fashioned paving between the town's houses.

The mat is made of coated paper and can be easily cut with regular scissors. Cut long strips for cobbled roads through the Christmas town, or create smaller squares, courtyards and areas in front of shops, the church and other buildings. You choose the shape yourself, so you can let the streets follow the placement of the houses rather than building the landscape around a preset road network.

The mottled grey cobblestone paving looks especially beautiful in classic Christmas villages, where it can emphasize the feeling of old streets and historic town scenes. Place lampposts, benches, cars and figures along the road to create little scenes between the houses.

For the winter landscape, you can sprinkle artificial snow along the edges and in spots over the stones. Leave some of the paving visible, as if traffic and footprints have revealed the stones through the snow.
